Tim Farron MP, former Lib Dem Leader, visits Harrogate for the Great Yorkshire Show.
Former Lib Dem leader and current party spokesperson for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, Tim Farron MP was in Harrogate and Knaresborough for the Great Yorkshire Show last Friday.
Tim is the latest big name from the Liberal Democrats to visit Harrogate and Knaresborough, after current Leader Ed Davey spent the afternoon speaking with voters earlier in the year.
Tim was visiting the Great Yorkshire Show alongside Local Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson Tom Gordon who spent the morning speaking to local farmers and businesses.
Commenting Tim said “The Great Yorkshire Show is a perfect showcase of all that Yorkshire farmers have to offer. It was great to have the opportunity to speak to so many local people and businesses. There are a lot of traditional Conservative voters who feel let down and have simply had enough.
People are ready for change and I know that Tom will be a strong voice for Harrogate and Knaresborough.”
Harrogate and Knaresborough is one of the Liberal Democrats top targets in the North of England. The Liberal Democrats are hoping to regain the seat at the next general election following on from their electoral successes in North Shropshire and Tiverton & Honiton.
Commenting Tom Gordon said “ It was great to have Tim join us in Harrogate and Knaresborough. The Great Yorkshire Show holds a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was a child, and it was great to be joined at this year's show by Tim Farron.
The conversations I had this year, as Harrogate & Knaresborough’s parliamentary candidate, were a little different to usual, but it was really insightful to hear first hand about the challenges and opportunities that countless businesses face across North Yorkshire and beyond.”
